"It is not often that I come across a production for young people that has such high production values and concentrates as much on visuals and sound as on the story and characters."
Tim Webb, Artistic Director, The Oily Cart
Book shelves, reading spaces and meeting rooms will transform into a watery wonderland to tell the tale of Alluriat - a bond that seems unbreakable beneath the waves. Told by two performers – Purvi Parmar and Jennifer Kay - using puppetry, illusion and physical theatre, this bold new show fuses stunning visuals and state-of-the-art digital technology to explore themes of love and division, nurture and abandonment and environmental change.
A tale of twins torn apart by a fearsome storm. Will they find light in the depths? Children will meet the characters before entering their sunken world.
Alluriat is performed in a unique mobile venue which can be quickly erected in almost any space (4m x 7m minimum!)
Even in a busy brightly lit library, children can enter a new world, with live puppetry, projections and holographic trickery!
Alluriat was developed as an R&D piece in 2016 and delighted children at Oldham Library Theatre. Since then it has evolved as a mobile show and encompasses technologies to dazzle, thought-provoking choreography and an original score.
When Ravana the ten-headed demon draws darkness over the world, can Rama and Sita's love and courage bring back a glimmer of light? Join Hanuman's monkey army in the quest to restore the true King and Queen to the throne and cast radiance among the darkness.
Forest Tribe Dance Theatre brings new relevance to the ancient tale of Rama and Sita. This sumptuous performance with sculptural set, original score, vibrant dance, projections and puppetry is a pearl of hope in a sea of uncertainty.
Heart Of Light is a fast paced 40 minute show that ties in perfectly with the Diwalli Festival. This falls during the Autumn season. However, the show can be toured throughout the year. We are currently planning a tour for late summer/autumn 2019 and into 2020. Additional dates welcome!
The show provides a cultural extravaganza offering live bollywood and bhangra dance styles. It is immersive and encourages the audience members to participate in the show.
We offer a "greet and meet" where the audience have a moment to meet the Rama, Sita and Hanuman the Monkey King puppet.
Our 'get-ins' and 'get-outs' are 1-2 hrs. We simply need a space for our set (3m x 5m x 6m) and we are ready to roll.
We have toured across many libraries, so lighting is not necessary. However, we have also toured in theatres and welcome a simple lighting rig.
"Brilliant show today at Oldham Library, thank you so much you brought smiles from the opening scene to the ending extravaganza!....." Audience Member
